On the road by 3:12 am to meet some friends in New Jersey, where we then departed in tandem to Hoboken, NJ to photograph the one and only skyline of lower Manhattan during the Blue Hour, and continued photographing right up until and slightly past sunrise at 6:13.

Due to a warm front approaching ( it eventually reached 70 degrees later that day), and the still cool waters of the Hudson River, a rolling fog bank was produced on the river's surface, giving Manhattan the illusion of floating in air, as well as pulling the rich, deep blue color of the magic hour into it.

I utilized the pier that houses the various boats in the NY Waterway fleet as a leading line into the overall composition.

Retired from a rewarding career as a Music Educator, Angelo's creative muse is now Landscape Photography.
