Description
I haven't photographed holiday light displays in about seven years, and with no snow yet to fall in the Hudson Valley (worth photographing) to produce any worthy landscape images, I decided to do some research on where I could find some wonderful displays for the holidays in the Hudson Valley, New York.
Another display that I was made aware of was the "Holiday Lights Extravaganza" at Blue Arrow Farm, located in Pine Island, NY.
Their lower barn was an enchanting display of Christmas sights. The magic forest was decorated with a walk-through light show with holiday music playing in the background that guided the way.
By arriving just as the gates opened, I was able to take advantage of the many spots for beautiful photo opportunities without having to bother any other visitors: I had the place to myself for most of my time there!
I am honored to be able to offer my photography of the beautiful Hudson Valley in New York and beyond for all of your purchasing considerations.
All of my photographs are available as prints, wall art, home decor, apparel, weekend bags, etc and are NOW offered with a canvas border, title, electronic signature and the year it was taken in 'The Signature Series Gallery'. You may continue to buy my photographs as they have always been available prior in all of my other galleries as well.
After uploading this photo to my various social media platforms, I was informed about the history of "Santa Cat" by one of my "followers". When I named this piece, I was not aware of the history of this Thanksgiving Day float, so it was a pure coincidence on how this photograph was named, or perhaps, it was meant to be that way?!? ;-)
Santa Cat History:
A 1,000-pound fiberglass cat that was once part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has found a new home at a New York animal sanctuary. The owner had the cat for 52 years and it has had various homes, but he wanted it to go to animal lovers.
The owners are now the Blue Arrow Farm in Warwick, New York. The farm is an entertainment facility and animal sanctuary.
Employees at the Blue Arrow Farm saw a previous news story about the cat statue and decided bought it. Now the cat will be on display for years to come.
