Description
This photo is the second of a series of captures I shot at the picturesque "Fitzgerald Falls".
This cascade is located adjacent to the Appalachian Trail as it makes it way thru the county of Orange, in New York State.
As I usually like to do for waterfalls, I chose to photograph in the "portrait" orientation, so that the main subject will clearly be the waterfall. Using a 3-stop neutral density allowed me to use a slow shutter speed to give this capture the classic silky water effect.
The autumn foliage was at its peak when I shot this, which dresses up the entire photograph beautifully.
As often is my practice to incorporate musical terminology in my titles as a means to stay connected and to pay homage to my past life as a music educator and active jazz musician, I choose the word, "Calando", which means to "fall away, or lowering". It seemed appropriate for a waterFALL image. ;)
I am honored to be able to offer my photography of the beautiful Hudson Valley in New York and beyond for all of your purchasing considerations.
All of my photographs are available as prints, wall art, home decor, apparel, weekend bags, etc and are NOW offered with a canvas border, title, electronic signature and the year it was taken in 'The Signature Series Gallery'. You may continue to buy my photographs as they have always been available prior in all of my other galleries as well.
