After arguing with myself for countless hours on whether or not I wanted to drive out to the Hawk's Nest in Deerpark, NY to photograph it in October, I finally convinced myself on a moody Saturday to do just that!

Needless to say, I was quite happy that I did. Although this landscape has been photographed a thousand times over, I wanted to put my own personal touch to it.

With this perspective, I used the stone barrier and the plow line as a leading line to draw one's eye down this serpentine road. You may think that this was dangerous standing by the road's edge, but since I needed to wait on a clear road (no vehicles), I felt quite safe while photographing this image.
