Description
After photographing farm land nearby, I decided to take a short ride to this part of Wallkill River where it meanders through other sections of the Scenic Black Dirt Region, located in the Hudson Valley, New York.
I remembered this oxbow from a prior visit a few years back, and I was not disappointed with what was waiting for me this time around.
It was still early morning, and the clouds from the overnight snow event were still quite predominate in the sky, thus allowing me to photograph in soft and diffused light.
Originally, I thought that the flock of birds (starlings, I believe) were simply taking flight to find another area to feed, only to discover when processing that a Red Tailed Hawk (seen in upper left corner behind some branches) was on the hunt. A nice surprise and addition to the overall composition.
I am honored to be able to offer my photography of the beautiful Hudson Valley in New York and beyond for all of your purchasing considerations.
All of my photographs are available as prints, wall art, home decor, apparel, weekend bags, etc and are NOW offered with a canvas border, title, electronic signature and the year it was taken in 'The Signature Series Gallery'. You may continue to buy my photographs as they have always been available prior in all of my other galleries as well.
