Description
Day eight found my friend and I exploring and photographing the various and alien like landscapes found at Mammoth Hot Springs.
My research indicated the best light to photograph this unique landscape was at first light, needless to say, I concur 100%!
Canary Spring was the second area captured by my lens, and I was intrigued by the tiered layers of travertine stone that lovingly embraced the steam and early morning light of the rising sun.
Mammoth Hot Springs is a large complex of hot springs on a hill of travertine in Yellowstone National Park adjacent to Fort Yellowstone and the Mammoth Hot Springs Historic District. It was created over thousands of years as hot water from the spring cooled and deposited calcium carbonate.
